How can I activate the VoloMedia Plug-In?
Using the Plug-In is as easy as hitting pause when you are viewing a video. You will see three buttons on the top right of the video: Share, Bookmark, and More.

What do each of the functions do?
  • Share allows you to e-mail shows and episodes you like to your friends. They will receive an e-mail from you with a link to play it.
  • Bookmark allows you to add content you like to your bookmarks on Digg, Delicious, Google, and more. You will need an account with those services and be logged in in order to use them.
  • More will show you related content and information from the publisher. It may be an article on the Web or another podcast that you can subscribe to.

  • How does it get installed?
The software is installed when you click on a VoloMedia enabled “Get Podcast” button on one of VoloMedia's partner pages.

Does it download a new episode automatically when available?
Yes, this is enabled via iTunes.

What platforms does it run on?
The plug-in currently runs on Windows Vista and XP. You must also have iTunes 7.0.1 or greater installed.

Will it automatically upgrade to a new version of the plug-in when available?
If a new version is available a dialog will appear which will ask you if you wish to upgrade to the latest version.

My task bar gets cluttered with icons. Why?
You should contact support in case this happens at support@volomedia.com

I have a firewall enabled. Do I need to do anything special to make the plug-in work?
You should not need to do anything special with firewall settings. The VoloMedia agent listens for podcast requests on port # 10930 which might be detected by firewall software. If it is detected please unblock this port.

The buttons have become grayed out and no longer respond. What can I do?
  • If you see a message "Unable to retrieve information about this media file", close out of iTunes, and then go to Start / Program Files / VoloMedia / Start VoloMedia Service
  • If you do not see a message, press play and then re-pause. The buttons should now be active.

  • How can I un-install the VoloMedia iTunes Plug-in?
    In Windows:
  • Go to Start / Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs
  • Look for either Podbridge Service or VoloMedia Service, click un-install
